Battery flammability test chamber tests the safety performance of the battery through the combustion test. It is an indispensable testing equipment for battery manufacturers and research institutes. The battery flammability test chamber is suitable for testing the battery flame resistance of mobile phones, laptops and other small electronic consumer products. The battery flammability testing chamber from Wewon Environmental Chambers Co., Ltd. conforms to SJ/ T11169-1998, UL 1642:2008, UL 2054:2008, IEC 60086-4:2000 and other related test standards.
How to use the battery flammability test chamber ? The test method of battery flammability test chamber for lithium ion batteries fire test: Fix the screen 38.1mm above the top of the burner, The mesh screen has 20 holes per 25.4mm, and the wire diameter is 0.43mm. Ignite the burner of battery flammability test chamber and observe the combustion of the battery, Until the battery explodes or burns out. The combustion process was timed. The lithium ion battery flammability testing chamber consists of a control box, a vertical air box, a combustion nozzle, a solenoid valve, a high-pressure igniter, a wire sample fixture, a gas pipe, a gas source, an internal and external flame regulating device, and a signal control line.
Test Requirements: Each test battery is placed on a 20 hole per inch wire mesh, 0.017 inch thick.
Combustion Particle Test (UL 2054)
The screen is placed at a distance of 1-1/38.1 mm from the burner|Battery Flammability Test Chamber for Lithium Ion Batteries Fire Test
Fuel oil and air are sprayed at the speed of a bright blue flame, so that the wire mesh burns bright red.
One thick asbestos cloth panel is placed at a position 0.91m perpendicular to the center of the steel mesh.
One square yard of coarse asbestos cloth consisting of four layers of 0.4 to 0.6 ounces of coarse asbestos cloth per square yard.
The test sample was placed in a position where sparks or burning particles could be ejected into the center of the coarse asbestos cloth.
In some cases, it should be required to circle experimental samples in the net,The burner is then lit and the battery is watched until it explodes or is destroyed. Judgement Result: coarse asbestos cloth surface rotation should not be ignited.
Test Requirements: The experimental battery is placed on a flat table with a 4 “diameter hole in the middle and a cover plate.
Spray Test (UL 2054)
The cover plate is made of steel mesh with 20 holes per foot or 0.43 mm of steel wire.
A 610mm screen (305mm height) with 8 screens is placed around the sample.
The mesh is made of 0.25mm diameter wire 16-18 wire per inch.Wherein the relief valve orientation is parallel to the asbestos cloth.
The sample is placed on a wire mesh, covered with a hole in the center of the table, and heated until it explodes or is destroyed.
Judgement Result: No part of the exploding battery penetrates the screen, and no part or all of the battery protrudes the screen.

Test Requirements: Each battery to be tested is placed on a steel screen with hole density of 20 /25.4 mm and wire diameter of 0.43 mm.
Combustion Injection Test (UL 1642)
The steel screen is placed directly above the combustion hole, 1~1/38.1 mm from the hole.
The condition of fuel gas supply requires that the bright blue flame be directly grilling the steel screen to turn it bright red.
Place a vertical panel 0.91 metres away from the center of the steel screen and hang a layer of cotton cloth on the panel naturally (easy to burn).
Cotton cloth area is 914×914 mm, a total of four layers, Cotton material weighing 12~18g/m2
The battery should be placed at the center of the cotton cloth to ensure that the material ejected from the battery at high temperature is sprinkled on the cotton cloth.
At the same time, the battery must be securely fixed to the combustion rack|Battery Flammability Testing Machine
After the combustion hole is lit, the battery will be heated until it explodes or is destroyed. Judgement Result: The cotton cloth on the panel can’t catch fire
Test Requirements: Each battery to be tested is placed on a 20-mesh [20-hole/in. (25.4mm)] porosity steel mesh,
Projectile Test (UL 1642)
The steel mesh is shelved above the hole of a platform with an aperture of 102mm. The diameter of the steel wire is 0.43 mm.
An equilateral octagonal cage is placed over the platform. The cage has an arbitrary edge spacing of 610 mm and a height of 305 mm.
It is made of 0.25 mm diameter steel wire woven vertically at a density of 16 and 18 wires per inch.
The battery is placed in the center of the mesh and hole and heated until it explodes or is destroyed.
Judgement Result: Any debris or shell after the battery explosion cannot penetrate the wire mesh, or any part of the battery cannot fall out of the wire mesh.
