Freon Leak Detector’s Structure and Installation Method

Freon leak detectors play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of various systems that utilize refrigerants. Freon leak detectors are essential tools in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) industry for detecting and locating refrigerant leaks. Timely identification and resolution of freon leaks help prevent environmental damage, improve system performance, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. These devices are designed to detect and locate leaks of Freon, a type of refrigerant commonly used in cooling and air conditioning systems.

Freon Leak Detector's Installation Method Installation for Controller
Installation Location: Non-explosion-proof places, duty rooms or places where people often come and go.
Installation Height: It is convenient for operation, generally 1.4 meters from the ground.
Installation Method: Use two M5 self-tapping screws to fasten on the wall, and hang the controller on the screws. The installation should be firm and not tilted. The installation dimensions are shown in the figure. (unit: mm)

It should be installed in places where gas is easy to leak, and the specific location should be determined according to the specific gravity of the gas to be detected relative to air. When the specific gravity of the gas to be detected is greater than that of air, the detector should be installed at a distance (30-60) cm from the ground, with the sensor facing down. When the specific gravity of the gas to be detected is lower than that of air, the detector should be installed at a distance (30-60) cm from the ceiling, with the sensor facing down.
In order to prolong the service life of the detector, please do not install it in the following places:
◆ Places directly affected by steam and oil fumes;
◆ Places with large air flow such as air supply openings, ventilation fans, and room doors;
◆ Places with a lot of water vapor and water droplets (relative humidity: ≥90%RH);
◆ Places where the temperature is below -40°C or above 55°C;
◆ Places with strong electromagnetic fields.

Freon leak detectors play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of HVAC systems and ensuring a safe environment. By investing in high-quality freon leak detection equipment and following proper installation practices, technicians can effectively detect and address refrigerant leaks, preventing damage, energy waste, and costly repairs. Regular maintenance and calibration are vital to ensuring the continued accuracy and reliability of freon leak detectors.
